Sir William is, IMO, the hardest boss in the game. Oberon is relatively easy you have a minion spawner there and just need to beat up waves of enemies. You can smack him to death with your axe, but it takes a long time. You'll probably lose some to his cooking fork anyways, but you really want to make it to his second stage with 5 - 10 guys left. With Melvin, don't engage him right away, instead circle around him so that your minions jump on his back. It's slow, but it works and sometimes there's no other good way to kill them. Fire, run away, fire, run away, repeat until dead. ![]() Some enemies, like giant slugs, you're just going to want to kite with reds. Using your greens and reds well is also key Browns do a LOT less damage in legendary but greens and reds stay more consistent. The two most important skills are knowing when to pull minions back and knowing how to pull a few guys at a time. Overlord + Raising Hell took me on the order of 25 - 30 hours, and I've played the normal game through twice. It'll take a lot longer to beat, since you'll have to tactically approach enemies that used to be easy. then latter, your other colors via the area in your tower against the beetles of that color. Also, grind brown life force in the mellow hills. Don't fight seven dudes at once, run and keep your minions away. But so far, your best bet is to bait one enemy and swarm him. I haven't gone much past getting rose, yet. You have to take advantage of your reds, when you get them, and let them do a lot of damage while you distract enemies with browns. In general, you can't play Legendary like you do normal. Repeat until you get enough minion gear to your liking. Go back, and the cooks should be back and you have to free the read again. If you want to make your minions do more damage, after you clear out the kitchen and burn the cooks, keep going til you see Melvin's room, get as much minion gear as you can, then go back, put the minions away and warp back to the tower. This will take a long time, took me 16-20 minutes to win on my ninth try. ![]() If you are alone, like i was, just hit him once per direction. Send one or two minions on his back and let them hit him. If you get it right, he should be stuck and not able to move. While his back is to you, he will turn go the other way then switch directions, repeat. Try and keep them alive and once he stops get right behind him. Unless you get really unlucky, your minions should survive until he starts rolling. let them beat him until the jump off then call them back. Then, take two minions at a time and get them on his back. keep circle strafing him and watch for the animation where he swings his fork and belly flop. And the best way to beat Melvin, from what I found, is to put all your minions on a guard marker near the door you come in. You just have to be good at timing when to call them back.
